Founded as Volunteers in Service to America in 1965 and incorporated into the AmeriCorps network of programs in 1993, VISTA has been on the front lines in the fight against poverty in America for more than forty-five years. |

Welcome!Rhode Island Campus Compact (RICC) AmeriCorps*VISTAs are full-time AmeriCorps members who address the pressing issues facing low-income communities throughout the state with placements at institutions of higher education and core urban schools.
RICC AmeriCorps*VISTAs help higher education institutions align resources and build effective community partnerships in order to better respond to pressing issues facing low-income communities. In their capacity, AmeriCorps*VISTAs directly impact local communities by leveraging a variety of campus and community resources to meet identified community needs. Through their unique placements, AmeriCorps*VISTA members build relationships with community-based organizations and connect them with campus resources such as student volunteers, faculty teaching service-learning courses and community Federal Work Study programs. |
